The new iOS version 1.1.0 of the GLEON Lake Observer app was released earlier this month. The latest features include in-app user registration and re-ordering of fields on the Secchi Depth data entry screen.
Other small changes were made in response to comments from beta testers who participated in the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) Secchi Dip-in event during July and August. All Secchi depth data submitted using the app through the end of September will be uploaded to USEPA's WQX/Storet database. NALMS, USEPA and GLEON are testing whether the Lake Observer app and database can be used for future Secchi Dip-in events.
Work is also underway to provide a selection list of lake names when entering Water Body Information in both iOS and Android versions of the app. Improved data search and display features are also planned, so stay tuned!
